Birth Registration by inscription

Birth Registration by Inscription is the registration done by the parents (father and mother) at the Consulate General before it is done by the authorities of the place where the birth took place.

Who can apply?

Application for birth registration by inscription can be requested by:

• any of the parents, if they are married to each other, being compulsory the presence of one of them at the moment of the application for birth registration by inscription;
• ambos os progenitores, se não forem casados entre si, sendo obrigatória a presença de ambos no momento do pedido do registo de nascimento por inscrição.

How much does it cost?

The amount can be paid by:

• Multibanco available at the Consulate.
  Bank cards accepted:
  • Visa Debit;
  • Visa Electron;
  • Mastercard;
  • Maestro;
  • Discover.
• Deposit or bank transfer using the following data:

  Ref: (Name and consular act required - Ex: Visa, Consular Registration, Passport, Safe-conduct, Authentication, etc).

• Payments are non-refundable.
  Make sure you pay with the correct amount.
• The payment receipt must be attached to the application.
  After payment keep the copy of the receipt.
